Losing classroom content

In an online environment, anything the students do results in some sort of sharable digital artifact. What about classroom activities? A really good conversation is totally lost at the end of a day. But a full discussion board becomes overwhelming to review by the time a course is complete. Who then curates that information to turn it into accessible knowledge?
